VIEW ANIMALS AS YOU RUN
Expect to see giraffe, zebra, gazelles and wart hogs near the trail. Further away you will catch sight of buffalo.
The animals are acclimatised to pedestrians (the park permits hikers). Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers will be in attendance during the event.
The start /finish line is at an altitude of 6,400 feet (1,950 metres) above sea level.
The course includes a challenging hill which rises over 1,000 feet (300m) by 5km. From the magnificent Kaparatania view point (stop for photos!) it's downhill and then flat all the way to the finish.
WATER and MARSHALS
There will be regular water stations and marshals to make your run / jog / walk a fabulous event.
Red Cross will be in attendance with a fully-equipped ambulance, a paramedic and a team of first-aiders positioned around the course.
A 23 km (14 mile) course through one of the most beautiful national parks in Kenya - Hell's Gate.
Run past zebra, giraffe and antelopes. See buffalo in the distance. Marvel at the plumes of steam rising from deep within the volcanic interior of the earth's crust
GREAT RUNNING SURFACE
The paths in Hell's Gate National Park are all dirt tracks except for a short tarmac section near the geothermal power station.
The route is (virtually) traffic free, but accessible by vehicle in case of emergency.
